We’re gonna talk about that blessed 72-hour game plan right now. Whether you’re a Retailer or in the Queue club, LuLaRoe’s 72-hour Plan is basically the foundation to your business and like any foundation, it absolutely and totally connects to your WHY (everything should!). The 72-hour Game Plan is the perfect way for new Retailers to kick off their business on the right foot. But it is also a wonderful way for even the most successful and seasoned Retailers to give their LuLaRoe business a boost when necessary. Although you may know what your WHY is and why you’re here at LuLaRoe, sometimes actually achieving that WHY can be hard. That’s where the 72-hour Game Plan comes in: it’s the HOW to your WHY. It’s the foundation, the oars in your boat, the hot air in your balloon, the engine to your vehicle, and it will ALWAYS work for you.
The 72-hour Game Plan is the literal answer to a lot of common LuLaRoe Retailer questions and issues you might run into.
It’s the super and simple PROVEN way to fill up your schedule for Pop-Up Boutiques. It’s the first thing you need to do start a business, to deal with slow business, when you’re waiting to on-board, and it’s the first five things you need to do especially if you don’t know what you need to be doing in the first place! Okay, okay, okay, you know you need to be doing it, so let’s just get to the good part and tell you just what these five steps are!
Step 1: Commit
Step one is Commit to “Treating your Business Like a Business.” LuLaRoe business is not a hobby. You didn’t come here to have fun (but thank goodness it IS FUN!). You are now a business owner, there is no “hobbyist” status at LuLaRoe. So treat it with respect and take it seriously. If you do, others will do the same. Yes, by golly it’s a fun use of your time, but it’s also hard work. So don’t think that you can just sit back and things will sell themselves. Heck no!
You also need to understand that there will be difficult times. Commit to stick to it, don’t give up just because it got hard or you hit a lull. If you commit, you’ll have an easier time making it through those difficult times. So get your Fred Flintstone feet on and get rolling.
Step 2: Make a list
For our second step, make a list of 50 people who could potentially be interested in doing a party with you. This is almost too much of a DUH! thing, but we have to go over it because we too often hear, “But I don’t know 50 people!” Oh yes, you do know 50 people! Start by going through the following categories and list any potential contacts in these categories: family, friends, contacts in your cell phone, contacts from Facebook, school, church, work, hairdressers, etc.
Stop shaking your heads, you can totally do this! Think about everyone your spouse knows at work or sports clubs. Think about your kids’ coaches, moms, siblings, etc. Now don’t go and contact a bunch of your Facebook friends who you haven’t talked to in a couple years let alone since high school. That’s a sure fire way to get unfriended or blocked.
Step 3: Contact
Once you’ve made your list of 50 people or more, it’s time to move on to step three: Contact! Set aside some time in those first three days and commit to contacting those 50 people identified as potential Pop-Up Hostesses (when you’re making your list, try starring those who would be the best fit for potential hostesses).
Give them a call or personal email or Facebook message and tell them about your business. Ask them to consider hosting a Boutique to earn free clothes or as a fundraiser. Out of those 50 calls, try to book at least three Boutiques (the first boutique to be held within 10 days of starting the 72-Hour Game Plan.) The other two can be a little further down the road, but BOOK THEM NOW!
It is important to do the first Boutique within 10 days of starting the 72-hour Game Plan because it puts a sense of urgency to your work and creates the momentum for your business that you need to get going. At the first Pop-Up, you can offer a free product for the next person to sign up to host a party or even provide a place where people can sign up to host. You can do a name drawing for this to make it more fun for the girls who are at that first Boutique.
Step 4: Promote
Make sure that each Pop-Up Boutique is fun and engaging so when the girls are there they will be excited to be a hostess. And of course, help your hostess promote the Pop-Up as well. You can easily go print off flyers as photos for $3 for 100. Then hit the pavement running, LITERALLY! Go to Costco, kids’ sports games, school pick-up with flyers in hand to give to other moms or women who might be interested.
We have to put a word of caution in here too: Don’t be spammy!!! Remember to keep all salesy stuff on your LuLaRoe Business Facebook page and keep lifestyle LuLaRoe stuff on your personal page. People will unfriend you or even block you on Facebook, because they get sick of you posting about your business. Don’t post about it 18 times a day.
Announce on your personal page when you start and then the only time you should post about LuLaRoe again is when it has to do with your personal life—if you’re flying out to a LuLaRoe conference post a photo at the airport talking about how excited you are to go and focus on that excitement and the city, don’t talk about how to contact you to buy anything.
Finally, step five: Repeat!!!! Repeat steps 1–4 and refine any of the previous steps as needed. Where did you slack the first time you enacted the 72-hour Game Plan? This time around fix it. Our 72-hour Game Plan is meant to be repeated over and over again until you can do it in your sleep.
As you get started with your LuLaRoe business, you will notice very quickly in those first three days just how important and FANTASTIC the 72-hour Game Plan is. Not only will it work during those first 72 hours but it will also work in five years when you’re a LuLaRoe guru and so stinking amazing at this job that you could do it blind folded on a tight rope, 100 feet in the air with an elephant in each hand. So the next time you hit a lull or if you’re just getting started, be sure to turn to the 72-hour Game Plan and see just how effective and amazing it can be.
